Keng's Landing โ€” Cleaning Reference Guide

360 County Road ยท How to do each task ยท Keep this as your training reference
What this is: This guide explains how to do each task on the cleaning checklist. Use it when you're unsure about a task, or hand it to someone new so they can get up to speed quickly. The checklist is for everyday use โ€” this is the "why and how" behind it.

Goal for each cleaning visit: 2โ€“3 hours max. The monthly tasks are designed to be spread out โ€” pick 1 or 2 each visit rather than doing them all at once.
Every Turnover Between-Guest Cleaning
โญ Laundry โ€” Start This First Do Before Anything Else
The moment you walk in, strip all the beds โ€” sheets and pillowcases โ€” and get them in the washer. This is the most important step because laundry takes time and it runs in the background while you clean everything else. Use hot water when possible to kill bacteria. Fresh linens go on the beds as soon as the old ones are done.
๐Ÿ’ก If there are two sets of linens, swap them immediately so the wash can run while you remake beds with the clean set.
Towels & Kitchen Linens
Replace all bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths in every bathroom with fresh ones. Replace kitchen towels. Wash the used ones with the bed linens or in a separate load. Inspect linens for stains before putting them back into rotation โ€” set aside anything that needs extra attention.
Bedrooms
After remaking beds with fresh linens, do a quick dust of nightstands, dressers, and ceiling fans. Check under the beds for anything guests may have left behind. Make the room look welcoming โ€” pillows straight, blankets neat.
Bathrooms
Do each bathroom completely before moving to the next one.
  • Toilet: Use toilet bowl cleaner inside the bowl, let it sit while you clean other surfaces, then scrub. Wipe the outside of the bowl, the seat (top and bottom), lid, tank, and the handle with a disinfectant cloth or spray.
  • Sink & faucet: Spray and wipe the basin, faucet handles, and drain area. Wipe the countertop and any soap residue.
  • Mirror: Windex or glass cleaner โ€” wipe in a circular motion, then buff dry. No streaks.
  • Shower/tub: These are fiberglass (not tile), so no need to scrub grout. Wipe down the walls, the floor of the shower, and the door or curtain. A daily shower spray helps but a full wipe-down each turnover is needed.
  • Restock: At least one roll of toilet paper on the holder plus one spare. Check soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash levels โ€” refill or replace if low.
๐Ÿ’ก The Roborock handles the main floor area. You don't need to mop โ€” just spot clean behind the toilet and in any tight corners once a month.
Kitchen
  • Countertops & backsplash: Spray and wipe everything. Clear off any items guests left out.
  • Stovetop: Wipe down burner area and the range hood underneath. Grease can build up here.
  • Microwave: Wipe inside the ceiling, walls, and turntable. Wipe the outside door and handle.
  • Fridge: Pull out any food guests left behind and throw it away. Wipe down shelves and drawers if anything spilled.
  • Dishes: Run the dishwasher if there are dishes, or hand wash if it's just a few items. Everything should be put away before you leave.
  • Restock: Paper towels, dish soap, sponge (replace if worn), trash bags.
Trash
Empty every trash can in the home โ€” bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and any others. Replace all liners. Tie off and take all bags out to the bin outside.
Roborock โ€” Mop Water Bins
The Roborock runs automatically on a timer and handles vacuuming and mopping. You don't need to run it manually. Each visit, check both water bins on the robot:
  • Dirty water bin (dark/gray tank): dump and rinse it out.
  • Clean water bin (clear tank): refill with fresh water before you leave so it's ready for the next scheduled run.
๐Ÿ’ก The bins are labeled or color-coded on the Roborock dock. When in doubt, the one that smells or has discolored water is the dirty one.
Thermostat
Make sure the thermostat is set back to its default setting before you leave. The default is already programmed in โ€” just verify it hasn't been changed significantly by guests. If it looks very different from normal, set it back.
Final Walk-Through
Before leaving, do a slow walk through every room. Look for anything out of the ordinary โ€” damage to furniture or walls, anything broken, anything left behind by guests, supplies that need restocking. Write anything you notice in the notes section of the checklist so the owners are aware.
Patio & Outdoor Area
Clear off any trash, bottles, or items guests left on the patio. Wipe down the outdoor furniture โ€” table, chairs, and any other surfaces. Make sure the patio looks neat and welcoming for the next guest.
Hot Tub โ€” Every Visit
  • Bromine floater: Open the cover and check the floating dispenser. There should always be at least 2 solid bromine tablets in it at all times. If there are fewer than 2, or if the existing tablets are more than halfway dissolved, add 1 or 2 fresh tablets. The goal is to always have 2 solid ones working. Example: if you see 2 half-dissolved tablets, add 1 fresh one to stay ahead.
  • Skim the surface: Use the skimmer net to remove any debris, leaves, or foam from the water surface.
  • Water level: Check that the water is at the normal level (above the jets but not overflowing). If it looks low, add water with the garden hose.
  • Cover: Wipe down the cover and make sure it's fully secured when done.
๐Ÿ’ก Bromine tablets dissolve slowly over time. The floater's purpose is to keep a steady level of sanitizer in the water so guests can use the hot tub safely.

Weekly Weekly Tasks
Hot Tub โ€” Shock Treatment
Add one dose of hot tub shock (oxidizer) to the water once a week. Also add a dose after every guest checkout โ€” this helps clear out anything left in the water and keeps the chemistry balanced. Follow the dosage instructions on the shock container. Add it to the water with the cover open and jets running if possible.
โš ๏ธ Do not let guests use the hot tub for at least 30 minutes after adding shock.
Hot Tub โ€” Scrub Sides & Waterline
Using the hot tub brush, lightly scrub the inside walls and around the waterline. This prevents a ring of buildup (oils, minerals, residue from guests) from forming. A light pass is all that's needed โ€” no heavy scrubbing required.
Shower Walls & Floor (All Bathrooms)
The showers are fiberglass โ€” not tile. There is no grout to scrub. Use a soft scrub brush or sponge with bathroom cleaner. Scrub the walls and the shower floor to remove any soap scum or body oil buildup. Rinse thoroughly. A weekly deep scrub keeps them from getting grimy and makes each turnover clean much faster.
Roborock โ€” Dirt Bag Check
Check the Roborock's dirt collection bag. If it appears more than half full, replace it now. There are always spare bags available. The bag goes in the trash โ€” just drop in the fresh replacement.
5-Gallon Water Jugs
Check the filtered water supply. There should always be at least one full 5-gallon jug in reserve. If you're running low, let the owners know so they can get refills. The jugs are for drinking water and coffee.
Supplies Check
Once a week, do a quick scan of the following supplies and note anything that needs restocking:
  • โ˜• Coffee, creamer, Stevia
  • ๐Ÿงด White vinegar (for cleaning)
  • ๐Ÿงป Toilet paper, paper towels
  • ๐Ÿšฟ Hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash
  • ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Dish soap, sponges
  • ๐Ÿงบ Laundry detergent, dryer sheets
  • ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Trash bags (kitchen & small)
  • ๐Ÿ› Hot tub: bromine tablets, shock (oxidizer)
Write any low items in the notes on the checklist.

Monthly Monthly Tasks โ€” Spread These Out
Monthly tasks don't all need to be done in one visit. Pick 1 or 2 each time you come. By the end of the month, they'll all be done. This keeps each visit to 2โ€“3 hours.
Roborock โ€” Mop Tray
Remove the mop tray from the robot dock. Rinse it out in the sink with water. Put it back. That's it โ€” quick and easy.
Roborock โ€” Mop Pads
There is always a clean, dry spare set of mop pads available. Swap the dirty pads off the robot for the clean spare set. The dirty pads go in the washer โ€” wash them on a regular cycle, let them fully dry before storing as the next spare.
๐Ÿ’ก There should always be one clean dry set ready to go. If the spare is already dirty, both sets need to be washed before the next swap.
Roborock โ€” Robot Filter
There is always a clean spare filter available. Remove the dirty filter from the robot and replace it with the clean spare. For the dirty filter:
  • Tap it gently over the trash to knock out loose dust.
  • Rinse it in the sink under running water.
  • Place it on the top rack of the dishwasher and run a light cycle.
  • Let it dry completely before storing it as the next spare.
โš ๏ธ Never put a damp filter back in the robot. It must be fully dry.
Roborock โ€” Brush & Sensor Check
Remove the main brush roll from the bottom of the robot and clear any tangled hair or debris. Do the same for the small side brushes. Use scissors if needed to cut hair free. Wipe the sensors on the bottom of the robot with a dry cloth โ€” these help it navigate.
Bathroom Floors โ€” Spot Clean Behind Toilets & Corners
The Roborock can't reach the area directly behind toilets and tight corners. Once a month, use a mop or damp cloth to get those spots. It's a small area and takes just a few minutes per bathroom.
Light Switches & Door Handles
Wipe down all light switches, outlet plates, and door handles throughout the home with a disinfectant spray or wipe. These are the most-touched surfaces in the house and rarely get attention during a regular turnover clean.
Patio โ€” Blow Off & Cushions
Use the leaf blower (or broom) to clear the patio and any steps of leaves, debris, and dirt. For the outdoor furniture cushions, vacuum them with the vacuum attachment or wipe them down with a damp cloth if they have any stains or grime.
Baseboards
Wipe down the baseboards in all rooms and hallways with a damp cloth. Dust and hair collect along baseboards and it makes the whole place feel cleaner when they're done.
Ceiling Fans & Light Fixtures
Use a microfiber duster or damp cloth to wipe down the ceiling fan blades and any overhead light fixtures. Dust builds up quickly and you can see it from below when it's bad.
Oven โ€” Deep Clean
Use oven cleaner or baking soda + vinegar paste on the inside of the oven. Let it sit for the recommended time, then wipe out with damp cloths. Clean the oven racks separately in the sink if needed. This only needs a thorough scrub once a month.

General Tips Good to Know
Order of Operations
  • Always start laundry first.
  • Work top-down in each room โ€” dust and wipe high surfaces before doing floors.
  • Do bathrooms completely before moving to the next one.
  • Kitchen last so you can run the dishwasher as you finish up.
  • Do your outdoor / hot tub check last before leaving.
If Something Looks Damaged or Wrong
Don't try to fix it โ€” just note it on the checklist and let the owners know. If it's urgent (water leak, something broken that affects guests), text the owner directly. A photo is always helpful.
Supplies โ€” Where Things Are
All cleaning supplies, spare linens, paper goods, and hot tub chemicals are stored in the designated supply area. If you use the last of anything, write it in the notes. Spare Roborock filters and mop pads are kept near the robot dock.
๐Ÿ’ก If you're ever unsure where something is or how to do a task, text or call โ€” the owners would rather answer a quick question than have something go wrong.
